Florida Gator quarterback Tim Tebow helped lead his team to a 27-3 victory over the Vanderbilt Commodores on Saturday night. The Gators have now won 19 in a row and are still the No. 1 ranked team in the country. Tim Tebow had 235 total yards and two touchdowns in the game. He was 15/20 passing for 208 yards plus one score and he had 27 yards on the ground plus one score.
The Gators struggled early, and like all season have had to rely on kicking field goals when reaching the redzone. “You’d like to put the ball in the end zone more and not kick field goals,” said Tebow. “But we’re going to be happy being 9-0. Not too many teams in the country are 9-0.”
One thing that bothered me was that the Gator offensive line gave up 4 sacks to Vanderbilt. They made Vandy’s defensive line look like a bunch of All-Americans. The o-line needs to get Tim more protection. That and the fact that the receivers rarely get open, it causes Tim to hold onto the ball longer then he should.
It was fun seeing Percy Harvin and Louis Murphy on the sideline for the game – I bet Tim would love it if they could have suited up in the orange and blue.
Tim Tebow’s Eye Black for the game was Colossians 3:23 – “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.”
