David The Gatorade Duels at Daytona International Speedway will be held on Thursday, February 11. The Gatorade Duel, is NASCAR Sprint Cup Series preliminary event. It consists of two 150-mile races, and serves as a qualifying race for the Daytona 500. Tim Tebow, along with Jacksonville Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew, will sever as grand marshals.
The grand marshal is the person that gives the command to the drivers to start their engines. Maybe if he does a good enough job they will invite him back to be grand marshal at the Daytona 500 someday.
“We’re excited to welcome two of the state’s most popular football figures to the Gatorade Duel at Daytona,” Daytona International Speedway president Robin Braig said. “Tim Tebow is a football hero to so many Floridians, and Maurice Jones-Drew is one of the NFL’s most versatile players.”
