Tim Tebow isn’t playing Pebble Beach

Pebble Beach tournament director Steve Worthy had told the Monterey Herald on Tuesday that Tebow would not be playing in the tournament.

“Due to the injuries, it looks like he’s a no-go,” Worthy said.

Tebow played through rib, lung and chest injuries he suffered in Denver’s 45-10 divisional-round loss at New England.

At the start of the third quarter, Tebow tore cartilage on his first rib where it attaches to his sternum, bruised his lung and had fluid buildup in his pleural cavity, an NFL source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

He won’t need surgery, is expected to make a full recovery with some downtime and his offseason training program shouldn’t be affected in any way.

He’s not playing the Pro Bowl which kind of stinks. If the game is for the fans, and he was the top 3 QB vote-getter (behind Brady & Rothesberger), I think he should have been picked. He could have backed out due to injury but still deserved the selection. I guess the game really isn’t for the fans but the critics.
