Tim Tebow suffered significant injuries Saturday night

Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow played through considerable pain in Saturday night’s AFC divisional playoff game against New England. At the start of the third quarter, Tebow tore cartilage on his first rib where it attaches to his sternum, bruised his lung and had fluid buildup in his pleural cavity, an NFL source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter. The injuries came as the result of a hit in the pocket when Tebow was pressured after throwing a pass. Even so, he was determined to finish the game with his teammates regardless of the score.

The Patriots defeated the Broncos 45-10.

What an irony. He’s hurt because he stayed in the pocket, not because he was running the ball.

I really hope those offensive line guys work hard in the off season and but they need to draft some OL guys to protect Tim. He was running around all night protecting himself because the line was absent in their duties. I felt so bad for him! Their one defender was pretty much open all night to have hits on Tim. The only time when he actually was able to see to pass was when he had three running backs/receivers surrounding him protecting him, and he made good passes to DT. Get better soon, Tim!!!

I totally agree. There is so much in the press about Tim as the QB, what about the poor play of the rest of the team? He needs protection and receivers who receive! During the season when they did play well, they succeeded. It may be inexperience, just as it is for Tim, and it will get better in time. I am also concerned that Tim thinks he is so expendable in the eyes of the front office that he would not come out of the game when it was clearly out of control. It may have just been Tebow being Tebow and bent on not giving up or he may have feared Quinn coming in and getting a few lucky passes off, creating another controversy for him. Anyway, pray he gets well quickly. He stated that being sidelined for just Monday was driving him crazy. GBT2!!

Alan: You’re right, of course…and, hopefully, Elway & Co. will tone it down on producing from only the pocket!!! Even Elway stated it took him a decade to finally be a 60%+ pure pocket passer!! Glad Tebow can do both and definitely safer to run if you don’t have consistent blockers doing their J-O-B!!! Praying T2 has a quick recovery too!
      GBT2!!!

Tebow is too selfless to think that Quinn might upstage him, he has played through a highschool game with a broke leg & played FSU with a broke hand the year he won the hiesman, he’s just that tough.

PEOPLE ATTACK TEBOW BECAUSE THEY’RE JEALOUS OF HIM.HE’S A MAN OF DEAP FAITH, AND HE’S THE TOUGHEST ATHLETE I’VE EVER SEEN AT ANY LEVEL.I’M PARTICULARLY PROUD OF TIM BECAUSE HE’S A FORMER FLORIDA GATOR, AS I AM,CLASS OF 1963.WHEN I WAS THERE SPURIER WAS THE NEW KID ON THE BLOCK,AND THE UNIVERSITY BOUGHT HIS HEISSMAN TROPHY..WHAT A JOKE.HE COULDN’T CARRY TIM’S JOCKSTRAP. GOOOO GATORS

  3. Cindy says:

    Oooops, heisman.

  4. Cheryl says:

I agree…great comments by everyone so far. The rest of the team, along with Tebow, need to improve in consistency and skill level. It’s NOT all on Tebow’s shoulders, although the media tends to make it seem that way!

Tim, you have the deepest admiration of our family for your strong Christian witness and for being a role model to young people. We’re praying for your complete healing from your painful injuries.

I strongly feel that these games in late winter should be played in a covered dome stadium. It is absolutely inhumane to require teams to play in weather with an 8 degree chill factor.

Just know you have thousands praying for your recovery. May God richly bless, strengthen, and guide you in your faithfulness to HIM!

Andy Dalton has been added to the AFC squad for next Sunday’s Pro Bowl.

Originally selected as an alternate he replaced Manning , The Next AFC alternate is Tim Tebow.

If he is well enough to Play.

Andy Dalton replaced Brady I read it wrong
    z-Tom Brady, New England
    Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh
    Philip Rivers, San Diego
    y-Andy Dalton, Cincinnati

    Ben Roethlisberger May Not Play

  8. Tisa says:

Big Ben is going to play. Saw that on ESPN. On another note, Elway is in Mobile for the Senior Bowl. Hope he finds some really good new players to help the Broncos out.

Tisa: Here’s hoping that Elway keeps his word and helps Timmy…better beef up protection and get some people that can catch, like Hernandez!!
      GBT2!!!!!!!!!!!

  9. tawk says:

Yes ck I hope Elway keeps his word as well. I am not buying it fully yet, I remember Tebow was promised to start before Kyle Orton before training camp and we all know how that turned out. I fear that Elway is still looking for his pocket passer and will do anything to get one. I just hope if Tebow gets snuffed again this year that he asks for a trade and goes somewhere where the coaches and staff believe in him that is all he wants and needs. We all know how great players can be when others around them especially the coaches and staff believe in them.

I am on pins and needles waiting for training camp this year, and the draft.

ck you are also right if they do go with Tebow they need to beef up the protection around him and give him someone to throw to.

    • Tisa says:

tawk and ck, I agree with what you are saying. While we expect to see Timmy improve over the off season, I think we need to believe that Thomas and Decker can as well. I don’t know about Denver’s tight ends and Timmy could really use at least one, a dream would be two. Aaron Hernandez is so awesome because the Patriots now have him lining up as a running back as well. But, we won’t see Aaron coming to Denver any time soon. Woody Paige also says the center is the worst. There are lots of holes and they probably won’t get filled in one year. And, yes, tawk, I don’t trust Elway with Timmy’s future, but I also know a thing or two about Timmy’s family and Timmy’s own resolve and I think Elway will be the loser if he proves to be insincere faster than after next year. Timmy seems very docile at first glance but underneath he knows what he can do and will demand that he be given the opportunity. To quote him, “If you don’t believe in me, don’t talk to me.” The message could soon be, “If you don’t believe in me, trade me.” GBT2!!

      • ck says:

Tisa & tawk: Agreed! If, and that is a BIG IF, Elway does the unthinkable by going against the Fan Base then he will see something he might not have considered seeing a lot more frequently…EMPTY SEATS PLUS LOTS OF ADVERTISING $$ GOING TO SOME LUCKY TEAM THAT APPRECIATES WHAT TEBOW IS ALL ABOUT!!!
IMO CAN’T SEE THEM, IF EVER, FILLING THAT BIG OF A LOSS IN A GAZILLION YEARS!!!!!!!!!
        GBT2
