Tim Tebow played a great game – he finished 10/21 for 316 yards and 2 touchdowns (0 interceptions), plus 50 yards rushing and 1 touchdown (0 fumbles). I counted 2 drops by receivers (Thomas and Fells), so his completion percentage should have been more like 12/21. Not great, but the fact that he hit on so many deep balls is really what matters.

Tim showed poise in the pocket and pulled the trigger, just as Elway asked him to.

The Game winning touchdown

Tebow played extremely well tonight vs the Steelers. He threw 2 touchdowns and 1 ran in. I don’t have all the stats in front of me right now, but I think he threw for over 300 yards.

I will give a full game recap tomorrow. Now it’s time to celebrate!

The Pittsburgh Steelers will be in Denver this weekend for the first round of the NFL Playoffs. The Broncos haven’t been to the playoffs since the 2005 season. The city will be rocking for a chance to advance. Kickoff is 4:30 PM ET on CBS.

The Broncos have lost 3 in a row and backed into the playoffs – no one is picking them to win. “The three losses haven’t shaken my confidence,” said Tebow It will certainly be a tough game, but hopefully with the Steelers injuries and the altitude the Broncos will have an advantage that can push them over the top.

Tebow is no stranger to high pressure situations. He played in three SEC Championship Games and two National Championship games while in college. Hopefully he can use his experience from those games to help keep him calm and collected on Sunday. The Steelers are definitely going to bring the house – they’re going to blitz Tim on every play and force him to make throws. They Chiefs defended Tim almost perfectly, so look for the Steelers to try and replicate. They won’t go into prevent or anything like that.

I think I’ve predicted the Broncos to win like every game this year, so why change now. I think Von Miller and Dumervil will hit Big Ben hard a few times and force him off his game. The Broncos will pick up a couple extra offensive series from turnovers and ultimately win the game 17-14, thanks to a Prater field goal. Tim will finish 10/20 for 180 yards with 1 touchdown and 1 pick.

Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos are AFC West Champions!

Yes, the Broncos lost to the Kansas City Chiefs this afternoon, but because the Raiders also lost, the Broncos were declared division champions based on a set of tie breakers. Who would have ever thought the Broncos would win the division after starting the season 1-4. Everyone at that point was talking about Andrew Luck. Then Tim Tebow got the starting job and led the Broncos to a 7-4 finish.

The Piitsburgh Steelers will travel to Denver next weekend for the Wild Card Round of the playoffs. The Steelers are a favorable matchup for the Broncos – Big Ben is still not 100%. The Broncos Defense should be able to disrupt him and grab a bunch of sacks. But we’ll get into that later in the week.

Now it’s time to celebrate!

Sunday in Denver will be the biggest game for the Broncos in recent memory. With a win Denver will advance to the playoffs and represent the AFC West. The task at hand is beat a very pesky and determined Kansas City Chiefs squad led by former Bronco QB, Kyle Orton. Analysts are hyping this showdown up as they are dubbing it as a revenge game for Orton because he was “bullied” out of the Mile High City. All of Tim’s naysayers will be bleeding with red and white Sunday to prove that Orton was the right fit in Denver. Win and Denver is in, lose and they still have a shot pending Oakland’s outcome. With the loss, Orton and Tebow-haters will seemingly have their last laugh.

I’ll just say it now and forever hold my peace. I have no problem with Kyle Orton as a quarterback in the NFL. He is a productive down field passer who can make big plays with his arm. You know what you are getting with Orton, a season of 20 tds and 12 ints. Orton will have a team hovering around a .500 mark the whole year and will finish either a game a head or back of that mark. Kyle showed his best when his Chiefs upset the unbeaten Green Bay Packers in Week 15. He followed up that performance with a dismal effort in a loss to a struggling Raider group the next week. Kyle Orton will give you highs and lows, good and bad, big plays and horrid plays. He is a solid NFL QB who has proven he can play the position for multiple seasons now.

The problem with Orton is he was never able to get those pressure situation victories while in Denver. He showed flashes, but also struggled at times. With his struggles mounting quickly early in the season, Denver switched to Tebow for a change of pace. Tebow showed that he was capable of gutting out victories and showing the raw determination that Orton lacked throughout his time with the Broncos. Tebow, who still has much to prove as a passer, is not the passer that Orton is. With that said, I think Tebow has done more for Denver based on pure will in not even a full season as a starter than Orton did wearing the orange and blue.

When Sunday comes calling, we know that both of these men are on a mission to prove different things. Orton is looking to prove that he was the man for the job in Denver and that he is a top caliber QB. Tebow like all season is aiming to get his team into the playoffs and to silence his critics in just his fourteenth NFL start. I predict a comeback by Denver in a somewhat higher scoring affair than we are used to seeing. Broncos take it 28-24, but both QB’s will play well in this match up.

First, I just want to say that I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas yesterday. Did you find any Tim Tebow items under the tree?

Now on to football. The Denver Broncos suffered their second loss in a row on Saturday, losing big to the Buffalo Bills 40-14. Thankfully, the loss did not hurt them in the division standings. All the Broncos have to do now is beat Kansas City this week and they win the AFC West. Pretty simple, huh?

“Everything is still on the table,” Tebow said. “We have to go and execute and play a little better. Hopefully, we can get in the tournament.”

Tebow played what could have been his worst game as a pro. He was 13/30 for 185 yards with 1 touchdown and 4 interceptions. HE ran the ball 10 times for 34 yards and a touchdown. I’ve seen Tom Brady and Peyton Manning throw 4 interceptions in a game before, so it’s nothing to be alarmed about. But where it really killed the Broncos was that two of them were returned for touchdowns. You can’t allow that many points from turnovers and expect to win.

“My confidence is just fine,” Tebow said. “I have to do a better job of not giving them opportunities. I tried to make something happen, and I tried to force it.”

We will see how Tim bounces back after the last two weeks. If the Broncos don’t win the division then it’s all for nothing and the entire offseason we’ll be talking about whether or not Tim will be the Broncos starting QB next season. He has to get them into the playoffs.

Tim Tebow is arguably the most polarizing player that the NFL has ever seen. Not even finished with his second full NFL season, Tebow has captured a nation with his will, determination, and class. But as all icons must endure, hatred comes from every angle. The star is not hated for his attitude nor criticized for a criminal record, but as far as we can see Tim Tebow is scrutinized for his praising of Jesus Christ. I for one am shocked at the dismay of the American people on this issue because how low do we have to go to say we can honestly “hate” an athlete? Tebow stands as a role model for his work ethic and leadership, but it seems he should be punished for his strong belief in a higher power. Skeptics say the young man throws his beliefs in other’s faces and that he taunts fans with his constant praying. Get a grip on reality folks! Don’t chastise Tim for what he believes in. As a Christian, I have a strong belief in God and I pray to him each day. Normal yes, but our society has segregated itself into social cliques that in order to be accepted we must be normal in every single way. This means that we should not be too religious because it deviates us from the pinnacle of success in America. I will never tip my cap to those who look down upon him because of his beliefs. What this young man is doing is celebrating life and honoring the people that made that all possible. All of us should be praising him for having common sense. Instead we criticize him because as an NFL superstar, he should be promoting the image that pop culture stresses. I will say it to all who have come to know Tim Tebow. Dislike him because you are not a Broncos fan. Dislike him if he beat you in Fantasy Football. Dislike him if he does something heinous and unforgivable. But under no excuses should you ridicule a man who works his tail off to be the best person he can be and at the same time honors our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Is he throwing his beliefs in your face? No. All he is doing is giving thanks and sharing his love for God as we all are taught by the good book itself. Instead of blaming him and saying what he is doing wrong, I think we should take a good look in the mirror at ourselves and ask what is more important. Public perception or the holy spirit? The purpose of this was not to bash Tebow haters, but rather to get people to understand Tebow’s perspective and to at least respect the man he is.

The Denver Broncos will face their toughest opponent since Tim Tebow last lost a game — against the Detroit Lions back in October. It’s the 4:15pm game on CBS — primetime in the afternoon, so you know everyone will be watching. With a win, the Broncos will have a great shot at winning the division. Even if they lose, they still have a good chance to make the playoffs.

The Patriots have the worst defense in the NFL. Their secondary is a complete joke. Tim Tebow should have no problem moving the ball against the Pats, something he has trouble doing against previous opponents. That is until it’s TEBOW TIME late in the 4th quarter.

The Patriots are going to be able to score points against the Broncos defense. They’ll probably get up early and Tim will be forced to throw the ball to keep up.

I think if the Broncos can be at worst down by 7 heading into the 4th quarter then they’ll have a great chance to win the game. Tebow is just straight money when it’s crunch time. I’m predicting a 24-21 Broncos win, thanks to a last second Prater field goal.

What do you think?

The Denver Broncos defeated the Chicago Bears in overtime yesterday afternoon, 13-10. The Broncos are now in sole possession of first place in the AFC West. It was a similar theme yesterday afternoon, something we’ve seen many times before. The Broncos are trailing into the 4th quarter and everyone thinks they’re going to lose. Everyone except TIM TEBOW! He flips it into another gear and drives the team into field goal range to send the game into overtime. The Broncos then get a shot late in overtime for another field goal and prater sends it through the uprights. Tim Tebow is now 7-1 as a starter for the Broncos. Unbelievable.

“If you believe,” Tebow said, “then unbelievable things can sometimes be possible.”

“I think we’re rewriting the book on `keep fighting,”‘ coach John Fox said. “Our guys never blink. They remain positive. As bad as it looked today — we didn’t play well; we had some drops. But the guy who dropped a couple of passes caught the … touchdown. That’s kind of the M.O. on this bunch.”

Tim finished the game 21/40 for 236 yards, 1 touchdown and 1 interception. He also rushed the ball 12 times for 49 yards. HIs touchdown pass went to Thomas, who has really stepped his game up the past few weeks.

Here is a video of the Tim’s post game interview with Tony Saragoosa

The season is winding down, with only 4 games remaining. This week the Broncos are at home, hosting the Chicago Bears at 4:05pm ET. The Bears are fighting through some serious injuries – they will be missing QB Jay Cutler (who used to play for Denver) and their star running back Matt Forte. The Broncos are 3.5 point favorites in the Vegas books. They’re thinking it will be a low scoring game and probably come down to some late 4th quarter heroics by Tim Tebow.

Denver is 7-5 right now. If they win this weekend, and the Raiders lose to Green Bay… then the Broncos will take sole possession of first place in the division. It will be a Christmas Miracle! Considering they started the season 1-4.

The Bears are pretty stout on defense, giving up less than 100 yards per game on the ground. Their passing defense is a little more generous so I expect the Broncos to target them through the air. Tim threw the ball well last week vs. the Vikings and hit Thomas for two touchdowns. I’d like to see something similar again this week – where Tim wins the game with his arm and not with his feet.

I’m thinking 14/20 for 240 yards with 2 touchdowns. Plus 30 yards rushing on 6 attempts. A solid game and another win in the books.
