The Wonderful World of Tim Tebow

We got another piece of Tim Tebow fan mail this morning. It’s subject is that of Tim Tebow’s recent decision to not appear in Playboy Magazine’s All-American team. As usual, we have changed the name of the person to protect their identity.

Tim,
I just read a newspaper article about you declining a position on the Playboy
preseason team. Thank-you for standing up for what is right! Also, as I looked more into who you are, I’ve found out that you are a wonderful person and a great role model for my boys ages 6 and 7. Anyway, I just want to say that we’ll be cheering for you and UF this year and will be Tebow fans from now on!
Thanks!

Alex

It’s not often that a post I make will be a request to the readers, but I’m in dire need here! Yesterday morning, I heard a Tim Tebow song on the radio (it was from 1010XL). It’s a song I’ve never heard before and was freakin’ hilarious. They said the artist is a guy named “Arrow” or “Aero”. I checked the radio stations website and even e-mailed them, but had no luck.

I really want to get the song in mp3 format and have it on this website for the readers to listen to and download. If you have any information on the Tim Tebow song, please contact me.

Per GatorCountry.com, “more than $6000 and awareness was raised for six charities in the inaugural Gator Charity Challenge on Friday night at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium in front of approximately 1,800 people. The fundraiser featured the 2008 Gators challenging each other in a series of strength competitions.”

Gator QB Tim Tebow participated in this event. In the picture below you can see him tossing a 30 lb medicine ball for one of the challenges. Unofficial reports have Tim Tebow being the winner of all the Stong Man Challenges. Just look at those guns!

The Florida Gators wrapped up SEC Media days yesterday. The teams usually fly in right before their press conferences and then fly right back home when they’re one. Gator Country has the entire script of the Florida press conference, so feel free to check it out. For those of you looking for only what Tim Tebow had to say, then look no further.

Tim started with his opening statement: “Well, I’m looking forward to it. You know, this off season has been great. Had a lot of fun. But I can’t wait for the season to get here. We’re very excited about it. We like our chances. We think we’ve got a lot of talent. We’re very excited and we hope that everything will turn out the way we’ve anticipated it. But you never know. It starts in a few weeks with two a days. We’re looking to get that team chemistry right, our work ethic up there. Who knows what’s going to happen, but we’re excited about this season and looking forward to all the games that are gonna come our way.”

There were also a couple of funny questions the press asked, such as “You have so many obligations. Are there days you just wish you could clone yourself?” Tebow responded, “You know, to be a hundred percent honest, some days, yes, sir. Some days you don’t feel like doing everything. Those are just the pros and cons that come with what you do and how you do it.”

More questions by media include:
Q. Do you bring the Heisman Trophy with you wherever you go?

Q. What do you think you need to do this year to get better?

Q. When you go abroad, are you always recognized?

Q. Your roommate is gone this year. Who are you rooming with this year?

If you want to find all of Tebow’s answers to these questions, you gotta check out the script. I don’t have enough room here to post them all.

The Sports Museum of America is considered the United States’ first national sports museum dedicated to the history and cultural significance of sports in America. It’s a new museum and opened just a couple of months ago in New York City. I haven’t been there yet, but judging by the pictures, it gives you a quick glimpse of what you would see at all major sports museums, but located in 1 single building.

I was browsing Flickr the other day and saw this picture of Tim Tebow posted. Someone who had visited the SMA took a photo of the Heisman Trophy exhibit… and guess who’s represented there. Timmy! Looks like they have a big board with a description, as well as, a video unit showing the ceremony.

Have any of you seen this in person?

Was there ever any doubt!? The Florida Gator star quarterback continued to add hardware to his shelf of trophies last night. Tim Tebow won an ESPY in Los Angeles last night for “Top Male College Athelete.” Tebow beat out Kansas State basketball star Michael Beasley and North Carlolina basketball phenom Tyler Hansbrough.

Football is King in America and Tebow beating out two college basketball superstars proves it. Among Timmy’s many honors are an ESPY, Heisman, National Championship Ring, Maxwell Award, and an O’Brien Award. They just keep rolling in. After all these awards, I’m starting to wonder if Tebow will be more hyped coming into the 2008 season then he was last year.

Anyways, Congratulations Tim Tebow!

The ESPYs will air on Sunday at 9:00 EST on ESPN.

Sorry I haven’t posted in a few days, I’ve been out of town and without a computer. I was actually up in Buckeye country scouting this Pryor kid everyone keeps talking about. All I saw was a poor man’s Tim Tebow. While I was up there, on July 14, I was able to tune in to ESPN and check out the Gainesville edition of TitleTown USA.

ESPN had Gainesville hottie Erin Andrews and our favorite Gator Tim Tebow on TV explaining why Gainesville, Florida should be named TitleTown USA. After talking about the two basketball titles, 2 football national championships and dozens of individual champions at UF, Tim Tebow and Erin Andrews did the Gator Chomp on live TV. IT was awesome.

If you didn’t get a chance to see it, check out ESPN.com for replay info.

No, I’m not getting one… and no, I don’t have a picture of one (yet). I wanted to make this post as a call to all Gator fans to see if someone out there has already got a Tebow Tattoo or if they’re planning on getting one. Tim Tebow’s name will live on forever in Gator Football lore, so a tattoo depicting his greatness is something that will never get old.

So if you’re going to get a Tebow Tattoo, what design would you pick? Maybe a Tebow Superman logo (you know the superman logo, but it has a T inside instead of an S). Or how about the HE15MAN logo? Maybe a tattoo of Tebow doing the jump pass or even going as far as putting a tattoo of Tebow hoisting the heisman?

There are so many possibilities. So many awesome ideas you could use for a Tim Tebow tattoo… now we just need a brave soul to get one done. If you already have one, please email me so we can post it here on the site.

We recently received another piece of fan mail, this time from a girl named Anne. This Tim Tebow fan comes to us from Georgia. I wonder what it’s like being a Gator fan in enemy territory. So here’s her message to Timmy, short and sweet

Hi, my name is Anne and I’m a HUGE fan of the Florida Gators!! You are my favorite football player!! I admire you so much because you are a nice Christian who’s not ashamed of it!! :) I was overjoyed when you won the Heisman, you deserve it!! I hope one day to meet you, but I’ll see you August 30th for the season opener against Hawaii!! Good Luck on the 2008 season and.. GO GATORS!!!

Remember, if you’re a big fan of Tim Tebow and want to share your fan mail or maybe you have a message to/about Tim that you want everyone to read, please contact us and we’ll gladly post it. During the summer months we’re especially looking for Tebow sightings and fan letters.

I just got done reading an excellent article from the Florida Times Union by Gene Frenette. I usually despise Gene. He comes on the radio sometimes in Jacksonville to fill in for regular hosts and I can’t stand the way he runs a radio show. He’s also not a Gator beat writer, so you can see why I don’t really like him. Nonetheless, he wrote a nice piece on Tim Tebow and how he has no downtime. I’ll let you read the whole article here, and post an excerpt below.

The easy thing for Tebow - a Heisman Trophy winner and arguably the most popular amateur athlete in America - would be to kick back this offseason. Enjoy life. Stop trying to save every soul or appease all the people who want a piece of his time.

But Tebow can’t bring himself to be too self-indulgent, which might be an attribute greater than anything the former Nease High School star has ever accomplished in football.

In fact, if it’s a choice between running a spread offense or spreading the gospel, Tebow will always pick impacting somebody’s salvation over scoring touchdowns.

My favorite piece of the article is when Tebow talks about not having a girlfriend. “No time right now for a girlfriend,” Tebow said. If that’s true, then I want to know what’s going on in all these pictures?
