The title of today’s post kind of has a Star Wars ring to it, doesn’t it? That’s because Tim Tebow is pissed. Every day he is reminded about what happened to him and the Gators last year in Jacksonville for the annual Florida vs. Georgia game. The notorious “Gator Stomp”… coach Meyer has a picture of it hanging in the locker room.
This will be a different Gator team then the Dawgs saw in 2007. This will the the Gator team that LSU and Kentucky just saw. This will be an angry Gator team that will fight and embarass their opponents. The Bulldogs may be ranked higher in the polls, but that doesn’t mean they are a superior team. The play on the field will determine that.
Last year, Tebow was hit a lot. He was put on his back. This year Phil Trautwein is back and the Gators are getting Tartt back. The offensive line will protect Tim Tebow. They will allow him the time to make accurate and powerful throws.
The speed of Percy Harvin, Jeff Demps, Chris Rainey and Brandon James will keep Georgia on their heels all day. They’ll expect the deep ball. This could open up the short throws for Timmy, and with thos short throws he can let the receivers make the plays.
Last year, Tim only threw one touchdown. This year I see 3. I predict Tebow will go 22-26 for 250 yards and 3 touchdowns. He’ll also have 8 rushes for 25 yards and a touchdown.
The Gators march to the BCS Title game goes through Jacksonville, and I know they will come out victorious.
If you aren’t able to make it to the game, check out Gator Envy. They have game discussions and live chat rooms for all the fans. It’s a great place to hang out with fell Gator and Tebow fans.

Ealier this week, it was announced that Tebo was a seminofinalst for the Davey O’Brien Award. From GatorZone.com:
The Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award today announced Florida junior quarterback Tim Tebow (Jacksonville, Fla.) as one of 13 semifinalists for the 2008 O’Brien Award, presented annually to the nation’s best quarterback.
Tebow, the 2007 winner of the O’Brien Award, and the 12 other semifinalists will contend for the award until the list is narrowed to three finalists on Nov. 24. Five percent of the next round of voting lies in the The Fan Vote, which will re-open at 3 p.m. (EDT) Monday, with the voting total at zero. Gator fans can vote for Tebow once daily by visiting www.VoteOBrien.org.
There are a lot of great college QBs on the list, such as Sam Bradford, Colt McCoy, Chase Dnaiel, Graham Harrell and Matt Stafford. With Tebow having a “down” year and the fact that he won it last year, I’d be surprised if they awarded it to him again. Only three quaterbacks (Ty Detmer, Danny Wuerffel, and Jason White) have won it back to back.
But good luck Timmy, we’ll be sure to rally the vote!

Florida quarterback Tim Tebow scored on a pair of three-yard touchdown runs in the first half on Saturday at The Swamp to push his career total of rushing touchdowns to 36.
You know what that means? He is now tied with Emmitt Freakin’ Smith for first place in Gator history for rushing touchdowns. I bet Smith never thought his record would be broken, at least not by a quarterback. And now, if Tebow can keep things going this week against UGA, he should break the record against his arch enemy.
It’s conceivable for Tim Tebow to break the 40 rushing touchdowns mark this season, and if he comes back for his senior year he could very well break 50. I wonder what the record is for most career rushing touchdowns by a quarterback?

Tim Tebow and the Florida Gators completely dominated the Kentucky Wildcats in all facets of the game. The final score was 63-5. While Tim did not have a high number of complete passes, he played like a superstar and helped lead his team to victory.
In the 3+ quarters of football Tim played, he was 11 of 15 for 180 yards with 2 touchdowns and 1 interception. He also rushed the ball 9 times for 48 yards and 2 touchdowns.
One of the best plays of the game came when Tebow hit Demps on a drag pattern across the middle and the freshman simply turned on the jets to make a 61-yard scoring play look easy.
“That was a designed play we had practiced all week long,” said Tim Tebow. “With the coverage they were playing on that play, the guys who are matched up on him are about 6-3 and 240 and they weren’t staying with him too long. When he gets that angle, there aren’t too many people going to catch him.”
This marks the second game in a row where the Gators showed up to play in full force.
“We are absolutely a real team, not just as far as going out there and playing in games, but off the field, in practice and in meetings,” said Tebow. “It’s not just offense or defense or special teams. It’s everybody caring about what the defense does, defense caring about the offense and special teams. Everybody is really taking a lot of pride, not just in themselves and their position groups but the whole team.”

Tim Tebow and the Florida Gators have their 2008 Homecoming game tomorrow in the Swamp vs a solid Kentucky Wildcats team. Because Tim Tebow is a junior, he is eligible for the NFL and this could be his last Homecoming game as a Gator. But let’s not jump to conclusions. Timmy has said many times before that he plans to stay all 4 years.
The Gators (5-1) come into this game ranked 10 in the BCS Standings and fresh off a huge LSU win and a bye week. They will be rested and charged for this game. Vegas has the line around 20 or 21 points.
Tebow had one of the best games of his career against the Wildcats (5-2, 1-2) last season. He completed 18 of 26 passes for 256 yards and a career-high four touchdowns, and also ran for 78 yards and a score in then-No. 4 Florida’s 45-37 victory at then-No. 8 Kentucky.
I think Tim Tebow is living up to his promise of playing harder then anyone ever has. I think we’ll see the 2007 Tim again this weekend. He’ll probably throw for 260 and three touchdowns, plus run for 30 yards and a score.
Don’t forget, if you can’t make it to the game, you need to stop by Gator Envy, where they have game discussions with other Gator fans.

I just read a cool article from the LA Times about who Tim Tebow might vote for in the 2008 Heisman race. Tim won’t vote for himself, so the writer thinks that he’ll be casting a vote for Texas QB Colt McCoy.
“He’s playing extremely well and doing a great job leading his team and handles it with a lot of class, too,” Tebow said.
The article also goes on to quote Tim as saying: “I think he’s done a great job just handling everything… I was very proud because I think he represents college football really well and handled his faith extremely well, too. He is never ashamed of that, which I respect as well, so I think he is doing a great job with everything that he is going through.”
At this point, I think Colt McCoy is the clear Heisman front runner. I know Tebow said last year he wanted to get Percy Harvin a Heisman, but I’m not sure he’s playing well enough right now to warrant consideration over some of these top QBs.

As you watch Tim Tebow during Gator games, you’ve probably seen his eye black is not the same eye black that other players wear. Inscribed on Tim’s eye black are Phil (under his right eye) and 4:13 (under his left eye).
Phillippians 4:13 is a piece of scripture from the Bible. It has several translations, some of which include:
I can do all things through him who strengthens me.
I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.
I can do all these things in him who strengtheneth me.
But you can see what it pretty much means. It’s a perfectsaying for a football player with faith.
What’s your take on Tim Tebow wearing this during the games. I imagine it doesn’t bother most people, but some may see it as a way he’s differing himself from the team.

I got an email from someone at www.TimTebowSong.com asking me to check out “The Real Tim Tebow Song.” Now this is a different song then the Smilin’ Tom one I posted about a few months ago.
This new song actually comes with a video as well. It’s by the Lady Lake Boyz. You should go check it out, it’s pretty funny. The guy in the #7 jersey has some serious moves… and on a sidenote he looks very familiar to me, but I can’t place my finger on it.

I’m a little backlogged on the emails from fans. This one comes from a Gator Alum who took his daughters to the Ole Miss Game. Once again I’ve changed the names of the people involved to protect their identity.
Tim,
I just wanted to thank you for living your faith on and off of the field. I was
blessed by your comments during the SEC media events weeks ago where you told the sports world where your priorities lie. What a challenge to other Christians to keep Jesus first in everything we do especially when we have obtained a the of success and notoriety as you have.
I brought my daughters (22 and 19) to their first college game yesterday in the
Swamp (my first in over 20 years). Before the game I was reflecting on your
commitment to Christ and how you had verbalized as I mentioned above. The passage of scripture from Matthew came to mind where Jesus said, “Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”
Despite yesterday’s loss to Ole Miss we had a wonderful experience watching the Gators and experiencing Florida football in the Swamp. I know God’s character in you will inspire you to inspire your teammates to “press on toward the mark.”
You are an inspiration to so many!
God bless,
John Jones, UF ‘70
