Tim Tebow Zone

The Wonderful World of Tim Tebow

You may or may not have seen this funny Tebow comic that’s been going around the internet. I thought I’d post it for all you Tebow fans. Be sure to read the headlines on the newspaper.

OK everyone. Tim needs our help. He’s currently trailing Chase Daniel in the ESPN Heisman poll. It’s time for everyone to step up and cast vote.

Peter Schrager of Fox Sports recently chatted with Tim Tebow. He asked Tebow 10 burning questions. The types of questions we all want answers to.

When asked about the Heisman, Tebow responded “I think it should be up to the voters to decide through the process.” What c classy and humble man he is. Some players might have said it’s a shame or what does it matter your class ranking is. Tebow is leaving it up the voters. He’s not our there promoting himself.

I was a little upset with question #4, when Tebow was asked about a specific Tim Tebow Facts website. I think the author should have done his research and included Tebow Zone in the question. Tebow Zone is more popular and provides daily updates on Tebow’s life. Where’s the love Peter?

Anyways, you can check out the whole article at Fox Sports here. I think it’s great that Tebow does interviews, I can only hope one day he graces us with a one on one exclusive.

Gator Sports published a cool article citing 15 reasons why Tebow will win the Heisman. You can read the article in its entirety here.

I like several of the reasons. Number 1 says “Tim Tebow has run for more touchdowns in a season than Heisman-winning running backs Herschel Walker, Bo Jackson, George Rogers and Archie Griffin the year (in Griffin’s case in either year) they won the award.” The counter to that argument though is that most of Tebow’s touchdowns were like 1 or 2 yard carries, while guys like Bo Jackson were breaking 40-50 yarders.

Another funny reason is Number 4. “Because Danny Wuerffel is voting for him. Hey, Wuerffel may not have turned into a great pro quarterback but you have to respect his judgment.” That’s funny. Danny was a big time college QB and won the Heisman for Florida about 10 years ago. If he thinks Tebow should win, then the media should listen to him.

The point is, there are a lot of reasons why Tebow should win the Heisman. Unfortunately, there are a couple of things going against him (being a sophomore, having 3 losses). It’s a shame that the Heisman voting is so regional. People out west don’t care about Tebow and probably haven’t even seen him play. They won’t vote for him. We just have to pray he gets enough first place votes from the South to compensate for all the second and third place votes he’ll get in the west and midwest.

Where would the Gators be right now without Tebow as their quarterback? 4-8? 5-7?

It’s safe to say that Tebow is the most valuable player on the Gator team. The Gators lost Harvin for a few games at the end, and they still managed to win their games big. In the few games where Tebow had his bum shoulder, the Gators struggled, specifically against Georgia. While I still blame Moore’s fumbles for that loss, had Tebow been 100% the Gators might have pulled it off.

When trying to size Tebow up to other top quarterbacks in the NCAA I like to ask this question. Would you trade Tebow straight up for any other quarterback in the country? Would you trade Tebow for Woodson or Chase Daniels? Would the Gators have been better off with Brian Brohm? The answer is no. I wouldn’t trade Tebow for anyone. He is that good.

So when these experts are talking about the Heisman and how Tebow has 3 losses, then need to pause for a moment and think about how many losses the Gators would have had if Tebow wasn’t their quarterback. He is the more valuable to the success of the Gators then any other quarterback is to their team (except maybe Dennis Dixon as we all saw what happened to Oregon when Dixon went down).

I watched the entire FSU game, and never even realized he got hurt until yesterday. During the game (I haven’t found out exactly at what point yet), Tebow broke his non-throwing hand and will be forced to wear a cast on it for several weeks. Early reports indiciate Tebow should be fine for the Gators bowl game on New Year’s Day.

The Gators rocked their biggest rival 45-12 in a game where FSU never had a chance. Tebow was 19 of 28 for 262 yards and 3 passing touchdowns. He also rushed the ball 13 times for 89 yards and two touchdowns.

Tebow has now officially accounted for 51 touchdowns this season. “My goodness, that’s a lot of touchdowns,” coach Urban Meyer said Saturday. “Good for him. You want to see a bad quarterback, put a bunch of bad players around him and you officially have yourself a bad quarterback, including Tim Tebow. … We don’t have bad people around him.”

This evening, the Florida State Seminoles will run on to Florida Field hoping for an upset of our beloved Florida Gators and Tim Tebow. Of 16 ‘experts’ I saw on TV today, not one of them picked Florida State to win the game. Now that is expected, afterall, Florida is a superior team. But don’t think the Noles won’t make this one competitive.

The Noles have nothing to lose and will be very very aggressive with the ball. They would love nothing more then to come into the Swamp and win. Lucky for the Gators, we have the X factor on our team, and his name is Tim Tebow.

The Gators may be out of the SEC title picture, but Tim still has something to play for. A Heisman trophy.

I look for the Seminoles to keep this game close up through midway in the 3rd quarter. From then on it will be all Gators, with a final score of something like 35-17. Tim Tebow will lead the way with five total touchdowns, 3 passing and 2 rushing. While, I want Tebow to have 4 passing touchdowns, so he can get to 30 on the season, I don’t see him getting 4. But 5 total touchdowns and 300+ total yards should keep him in the driver’s seat for the Heisman.

Good luck, and Go Gators!

First FAU was out to hurt Tebow (as if that isn’t an oxymoron in itself), and now Florida State is saying “Tebow is going down.” Florida State linebacker Geno Hayes called out Tebow. I guess he never heard of the phrase ‘mess with bull, and you’ll get the horns.’

“The bigger they are the harder they fall,” Hayes said. “Hopefully we can go out there and shatter his dream.”

Tim Tebow welcomes your challenge. I invite Hayes to watch any Youtube video on Tebow and witness the hurt he puts on linebackers. Look at the fear in the eyes of Vols players. FSU means nothing to Tebow. Shatter his dreams? I dare Hayes to try it.

Tebow makes his living off guys like Hayes. And the sad thing is they never learn. Game after game opposing players make fools of themselves while Tebow’s on route to a 6th touchdown.

In the Florida Gators stomping of the FAU Owls, Our favorite quarterback Timmy Tebow became the first player in NCAA history with at least 20 touchdowns passing and rushing in the same season. Tebow now has 26 passing touchdowns and 20 rushing touchdowns this season. If Tebow throws for 4 touchdowns against FSU this weekend he can also become the only player to be 30-20. That is just insane!

Tebow had a great game against the Owls, throwing for 338 yards and completing 73.5% of his passes. He did have 1 interception, but that was overshadowed by his 4 total touchdowns. Tebow now has two straight 300 yard passing games.

Listening to the post game interview, I think it’s funny to hear Meyer criticize Timmy.

“Tim didn’t play his best game,” Meyer said. “That’s being critical. I’m being critical of Tim because he needs a little critical analysis every once in a while. He did not play his best game, but that tells you how good a football player he is.”

I know Meyer’s just trying to keep Tim humble so all this attention and record setting stuff doesn’t go to his head, but really Urban, show him some love!

The win moved Florida up to #12 in the BCS.

The Florida Gators will host the Florida Atlantic Owls in their annual beat down game the week prior to the FSU game. The Owls have been talking smack all week, saying they’re going to put the hurt on Tebow. Well I’ve got news for them. Tebow doesn’t get hurt for nobody!

First of all, I don’t even know why Boca Raton has a football team. I wonder if UF had to pay these chumps to come up here for a beatdown. I feel bad for all the linebackers that have to get a Tebone forearm to the face.

My guess is the Gators are going to win this game something like 59 - 10. It won’t even be close. Meyer said earlier this week that Tebow will get a lot of playing time. He recognizes that Timmy is the Heisman front-runner (now that Dixon is hurt) and wants to do everything he can to help Tebow win that award.

Tebow should throw for 275 yards and rush for another 60, giving him a total 5-6 touchdowns. I doubt he’ll get 7 touchdowns like he did last week, but 5-6 isn’t out of the question.
