Is it good news or bad news that Tim Tebow was getting pressured by the defensive ends in Saturday’s practice? Well, not good news for Tebow, but good news for the Gators in general since our defense had a heck of a time last season putting pressure on any quarterbacks.
Here’s what Lindsay Jones from the Palm Beach Post had to say about it:
The defense dominated — and it was the second substantial win for the unit after winning a goal-line scrimmage last Saturday. And it wasn’t just one or two players who excelled. The defensive ends put pressure on Tim Tebow and Cam Newton and the line and linebackers generally bottled up the Florida running backs, while the cornerbacks — perhaps the team’s most maligned group — played aggressively against the receivers, something we didn’t see a lot of last fall. Yes, it is early, but progress is progress.
Not a whole lot of Tim Tebow news, but enough to keep us satisfied. Timmy needed to work on his ability to work under pressure in the pocket anyways. Instead of immediately taking off on the run, he needs to practice staying in the pocket, avoiding the rush and getting the pass off.

News on Tim Tebow has been pretty quiet over the past few days. As they always say, “no news is good news.” We have to assume Tebow is keeping it up in practice. If anything happened we would have heard about it. Quarterbacks don’t tend to get injured in practices because they wear the “don’t hit me” red shirt. Although we all know Tebow doesn’t need a red shirt.
Here’s a picture of Tebow at a Gator practice wearing his mandatory red shirt. Of course you see a couple of girls gawking at the greatness of Tim Tebow.

Tebowzone is a website dedicated to Tim Tebow. The articles here are open to the public, so anyone can read them… even non-Tebow fans. However, do to the recent Tebow hating in the comment section of this website, we will be taking measures to eliminate it.
Over the next few days we will be requiring people to register and become a member of TebowZone before they are allowed to comment on a post. This will give us the authority to monitor accounts and ban anyone who is a problem.
We are not saying rival fans can’t read this blog or post comments. TebowZone still welcomes opposing opinions and mature Tebow and collegiate sports discussions. People just need to do it in a respectful manner without using hateful remarks.
I’m sorry it’s had to come to this, but in order to keep this site family friendly it’s a step that needs to be taken. If you have a problem with the new change, feel free to contact us.

Tim Tebow is not just about football. If you’re only a casual fan, you may not know how much he dedicates himself to family, church and the community. It’s one of the many attributes that have given him the name Superman. Tebow does it all.
First Coast News out of Jacksonville has posted an article on their website talking about Tebow took some time after a Gator practice to meet with Kenny Goodall, a lifelong Gator fan who is suffering from Lou Gehrig’s disease.
Goodall’s wife said it was a dream come true. “It’s neat to see that there’s people still out in the world that really care and want to make a difference in people’s lives and that how we feel their blessing to us,” said Karen Goodall.
Here’s a screenshot from the FCN video shoot.

Lindsay Jones of the Palm Beach Post, wrote an article of her observations from Spring Practice on Friday. Here is an excerpt of what she had to say about our favorite Gator, Tim Tebow.
The new wrinkles to the Gator offense this year will likely be the addition of a no-huddle offense, and putting quarterback Tim Tebow under center — instead of the shot-gun — at times. Adding the no-huddle should help Florida add to its total of number of plays per game (it averaged about 70 last year, and Mullen said the no-huddle could bump that up to around 80). “We’re not changing the offense,” Mullen said, “its just changing the speed we’re executing it.” Urban Meyer said that adding the no-huddle will hopefully help the team in late-game situations. “We have athletes,” Meyer said. “No-huddle is a chance for us to wear [opposing defenses] out.”
So they want to play Tebow more under center instead of in the shotgun. This obviously tells us they run be running Tebow as much anymore, at least not in the open field where he is exposed to injury. Meyer must be confident about his backfield if they want to reduce Tebow’s involvement in the running game. I’m excited about seeing Tebow use his arm a lot more this year and prove the NFL scouts that he can throw the ball far and accurate.
I also like the addition of the no-huddle offense. The Gators sucked last year in the 2-minute drill at the end of the game. If they put in a lot of time this Spring working on that, I know that Tebow can close out those close games.

The Gators took the practice field for the first time in 2008 yesterday. Emotions were high, players were amped and ready to put the pads on after coming off a disappointing 2007 season (can I really call a Heisman year for Tim Tebow a disappointing season?). GatorBait.net posted a list of their Hit or Miss players from yesterday’s practice and to my surprise…Tebow was on the Miss list! Blasphemy! Here’s what they had to say:
Last year Tim Tebow turned in an incredible spring. Though he wasn’t terrible, he wasn’t quite as sharp today.
Not quite an in-depth observation of his practice, but it will have to do since I was not able to attend. Gator bait did however give Tim Tebow the “Mr. Popularity” award for the day. I knew all you Tebow fans would go out there and show your support!
I hope this was enough info to hold you over until we have more reports. Keep checking back for more Tebow news!

Since I don’t have any word yet on Tim Tebow during his first day of Spring Practice, I thought I would just give you guys an update on a change coming soon with Tebow Zone. It’s nothing big, but I’ve been meaning to change the header images for quite some time now, and I’m finally getting around to it.
One of the images was reversed to make it fit better, but by doing that, Tebow’s #15 is also reverse so it kind of looks like a 21. Since the current header is almost a year old, we’ve finally got some new pictures of Tebow, so I’m going to redo it tonight.
Gotta get everything set and ready for the start of Spring Practice. We may undergo a couple of other changes before the season starts, but I don’t want to spoil anything just yet

Tomorrow, Tim Tebow and the Florida Gators football team will finally hit the practice fields. Wednesday, March 19 from 3:25 p.m.-5:55 p.m., the players will get down and dirty and start their journey towards a 2008 National Championship. The players actually won’t do a whole lot on Wednesday, just some basic workouts to get prepared. You can view the full Spring Practice schedule, which ends with the Orange & Blue game, on Gator Zone.
I remember last year coming off the 2006 National Championship, Gator fans were obsessed with the phenomenon of Tim Tebow. They stalked him around the stadium and were 4 rows deep at the practice field fence just trying to get a glimpse of his greatness.
I’m not sure if Tebowmania will start out as ramped as last year, but I would wager that there will be a good amount of fans out there to support Tim and the team. I just don’t think the coaches will have to drive him around in a golf cart for protection.
So will you be there to watch?

After watching the pitiful Florida Gators men’s basketball team fail in the SEC Tournament and ultimately not get a bid to the NCAA Tournament, one has to wonder… Can Tim Tebow play basketball?
He wouldn’t be the tallest guy on the court, but I bet Timmy could run the floor and play defense with the best of them. No one’s going to muscle him down for a rebound either.
I think Billy Donovan should petition to Urban Meyer about having Tebow try out for the basketball team next season. Even if he just came in to do the dirty work, you know the O’Dome would be packed! Tebow would draw a crowd and give this team some national media coverage. I think they might even win 25+ games with Tim on the team.
