The Wonderful World of Tim Tebow

Tebow is amped for Saturday’s game against Western Kentucky. He recently called it “a dream come true, something I have looked forward to my whole life.”

There’s no doubt in my mind he’s going to go out there and bulldoze the first linebacker he sees. I pity the WKU defense and their efforts to stop Tebow. The last thing a defense wants to see is a Tebow that is pumped up.

“I bet we will have to calm him down,” coach Urban Meyer said. “That is a concern. I think if the human element comes into play, he will get it straightened out really fast. Ever since he was a little boy, he wanted to be the starting quarterback at the University of Florida — and now it is here. I think that he will be fine.”

The Florida Gators have a tough matchup coming up this Saturday… the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers. Folks at Gator Envy are already starting up the game thread. If you’re a Tebow fan, you’ll definitely want to check out Gator Envy during the game if you can’t make it to Gainesville.

I’ll do a full breakdown on what we can expect from Tebow against WKU later this week.

Since when does the Man of Steel need a backup? I expect Tebow to take 100% of the snaps the entire season. Anything less would prove he’s not a deity.

Nonetheless, Meyer feels that for the sake of the other Quarterbacks on the team, that he needs to name a backup. A few days ago, freshman Cam Newton was given that role.

Newton has some very big shoes to fill. Following a great man is a difficult task. I just hope Newton has half the stones Tebow does.

It’s always hard work when a Quarterback has to change his throwing motion. You grow up throwing the ball one way, but then later in life coaches ask you to change it. Generally, it’s for the good of the game and the good of your body. Having a bad throwing motion can wreck a QB’s shoulder.

“Always when you have a habit and you’ve done something for so long, it’s tough to change,” Tebow said. “That’s why you have to go out there disciplined and really work hard every day.”

Word around campus is that all the hard work Timmy put in this offseason is paying off. “He’s throwing a better ball,” Murphy said. “It’s a smooth, real accurate throw. From what I can tell, he got a lot of tips in the offseason. And now he’s putting them into effect.”

I can’t wait to see what he can do against Western Kentucky.

Don’t let Tebow’s iron clad workout routine and toughness on the field fool you. Our boy Timmy is all about one thing. F-U-N.

“It’s been fun, it’s been a good camp so far,” he said. “We’ve been working hard trying to get ready. We’ve got a lot of young guys working in there, and we’re just trying to get that timing down with everybody. Everybody’s going hard and making plays and so it’s been a lot of fun. It’s been a good camp so far, we’ve just got to make our timing a little more crisp and I think we’ll be pretty ready.”

Now, how many players are going to sit there and say two-a-days are fun?

Ryan Ross of the Alligator is jealous of Tebow. But really, who isn’t? Apparently Ross is upset because Tebow is getting all the ladies and Ross can’t land a date or pick up a girl at Gator City.

You can read the whole article here. Here’s my favorite part:

I happen to be a “handsome young man whom any girl would want to date” (thanks, Mom!), but these standards are a bit too high. No longer can I even enjoy Florida football with females, as they inevitably comment on something completely unrelated to Tebow’s on-field ability.
